Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting Cristina Pelli, who showed us that the path from studying tourism in Italy to working in the advertising industry for one of the world’s largest media corporations is not a matter of chance or luck, but the result of courage and deliberate planning.
During the meeting, many questions were asked about her career path. Here are the most important ones:
💬 Why the decision to leave Italy?
Cristina chose growth. She wanted to explore new opportunities. The desire to discover the “unknown” pushed her forward.
💬 How to ensure financial stability while studying in a foreign country?
A scholarship from the Erasmus program (which allowed her to live in Wrocław and the UK) and financial discipline. From her early student years, Cristina saved every penny she earned, knowing that these savings would be her ticket to the future.
💬 Why marketing, when you studied tourism and languages?
The realities of the tourism industry and the pace of change in today’s world led Cristina to take a bold step—changing her profession and developing in a completely new direction.
The key lessons from this meeting:
Step out of your comfort zone – this is where true learning happens. Without moving to Poland or the UK, Cristina would not be where she is today.
Plan and build a “financial cushion” – dreams are important, but a secure start comes from financial safety. Consistent saving makes it easier to take risky but rewarding decisions.
Don’t be afraid to dream, but take action – dreams without a plan are just wishes. You must pursue them with iron consistency.
Surround yourself with people who have vision – look for individuals who aim high as well. Mutual motivation and sharing experiences are the fastest fuel for growth.
We thank Cristina for her honesty and a huge dose of practical tips! The journey from Italy to Switzerland via Wrocław is proof that the world is open to us if we only have the courage to step into it.
